Unbelievable.. Again

So, I saw Notorious last night and I was thoroughly impressed. I'm not gonna write a long-winded review or spoil anything for those who haven't seen it, just wanted to talk about my impression of the movie itself.

The acting was exceptional, Gravy did his thing as the lead and the supporting cast was very believable. The screen-writing described Big's life relatively accurately, taking some poetic liberties of course, but I found it suspenseful and emotional even for someone who knows the story. The sound direction was amazing, especially the way Gravy interpreted Big's music while the engineers spliced the actual tracks throughout the film.

Overall, I'm satisfied with Notorious. The film lived up to my personal expectations and even surprised me occasionally. I highly recommend it - I think it's a story that anyone, hip-hop head or not, can appreciate.

Since this will likely be my last Notorious-related post for a minute, I gotta up this dope project from Mick Boogie & Terry Urban. I'll let the man Mick himself describe it, from ThePressPlayShow:

Two years ago... we released what many considered a classic mixtape... Unbelievable... a carefully chosen selection of blends and reproductions that many considered music Biggie would actually have chosen in 2007. After adding a multitude of guest vocals, we received the ultimate blessing... hosting by Puff! And the rest is history...

However... 2 years later, we wanted to update/add-on/revise our project and take it even further... in honor of the new Biggie movie. So we present... Unbelievable: The Notorious Edition... all your favorite songs from the original mix... plus new joints featuring Redman, Sheek, Gravy (yes, that Gravy) and more.

Without any further ado, I present the download link for this tape. Big thanks to Mick & Terry, Enjoy!
