Am I The Only One..

..Progressing in a recession?

Being from Jersey, I'll give any Budden an honest listen - and usually, I enjoy his unconventional flow and introspective perspective. Jumpoff Joey's got versatility and solid lyrics but sometimes gets too emotional to the point where I feel bad for dude. I like some of his catalog - definitely not all - and I take pride that I'm not on his D like some of these other internet personas.

Being a critical blogger, I gave an objective listen to Halfway House, the digital prequel to his upcoming LP Padded Room. To be honest, it's pretty dope - has its ups with crazy surprises but downs with no real direction. Most importantly, it did what it's supposed to - keeps me interested to hear what he produces next while leaving room for improvement.

I suggest checking it yourself to formulate an opinion. Here's the track-list plus links to the best it has to offer.. Enjoy!

Words Can't Describe..

.. History was made last night, Sorry for the lack of pictures but you'll just have to visualize what 15,000 strong felt like cheering on D-Block, Ne-Yo (with guests Plies and Fabolous!), Weezy and finally Jay-Z (with special guest Beyonce!).

Edit: Here's a nice 6 minute video clip, good looks RealTalkNY.. Enjoy!

'Til next time..

How Could You Be So Heartless?

Kanye West - Heartless (Unmastered)

I got chills reading this story on HipHopDX that 'Yeezy premiered 808's and Heartbreak in L.A. Tuesday night. Maybe because this is the most anticipation I've ever felt for an album in years. Maybe because it's going to be so different. And, most likely, because I have NO idea what to expect.

My favorite excerpt:

Kanye silenced critics on his new direction. “I’m here to bring positivity that cannot be judged.” Alluding to an example of this, 'Ye stated, “It’s like judging a grandmother’s love, and someone says ‘Your grandmother gets two and a half mics.'"

Here's the tentative tracklist and above is a taste of what's to come.. Enjoy!

1. Welcome to Heartbreak
2. Heartless
3. Love Lockdown
4. Robocop
5. Anyway
6. Street Lights
7. Say You Will
8. Bad News
9. Amazing
10. Tell Everybody That You Know
11. Coldest Winter

Fresh To Death..

.. Dressed to impress.

Here are some shots of those spankin' new Nike Air Yeezy's, rocked by Mr. West himself. The tans are from the video shoot for "Go Hard" with Officer Ross and the worst DJ Khaled (good looks heather!) and the shinin' glow-in-the-dark are scooped from Don't Act Like I Never Told Ya. Man, I want those in black to match my Power 105.1 Powerhouse outfit for October 28 at the Izod Center.

Common & N.E.R.D.

In NYC tonight at Roseland Ballroom.. I've got tickets, do you??

EDIT: The gin & juice was flowing, the live band was rockin', and both acts killed it. Simply amazing.
