..Okay, I've ranted about Blogger taking down my posts before, so excuse me if I repeat myself.

Actually, I'm not even gonna complain about my "A Blog Supreme" post, featuring U-N-I's and Jadakiss' new albums, getting chucked out the window today. In the back of my mind I knew it was a mistake and I'll man up to the consequences.

What I'm gonna do is keep doing what I do, with one stipulation. I'm not gonna post full retail album leaks anymore without the artist/label consent, for obvious reasons.

But I reiterate, if any label heads or artists want their music taken down from my site, PLEASE just let me know. I'll edit the post instantly and remove the material.

On to what you really came here to see and hear, some music.



I saw other blogs posting leaks from Virginia MC Nickelus F over the past couple weeks, but wanted to wait until the full version of his album Heathen dropped to listen. I'm definitely feelin the nice flow and real-talk concepts, so I got the word on Twitter to post it.

Another artist I wanted to put you up on is CientifiQ, Big Apple-raised and currently reppin' central Texas. Not only is he cool peoples but he makes some real good music. Controlling the MPC and on the mic, Q does the whole nine.

His voice is reminiscent of Chali 2na from J-5 but the subject matter is what grabbed me initially on tracks like "Common Ground" and "Where She At? (Hip Hop)." He's definitely a purveyor of real hip-hop - Head on over to his Reverb Nation page for a listen.

Abraham, Martin, John, & Marvin

I'm hoping the great readers of my blog are familiar with the musical legend that is Marvin Gaye. The Prince of Soul/Motown would have been 70 years old today, and his influence still reaches far beyond today's soul vocalists and R&B sensations to almost every element of urban music.

Everyone loves his collection of hit singles - I mean, I remember listening to "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" on a Best of Motown '68 tape back when I was a young'n - so I wanted to dig up an often-overlooked song from his collection that just happens to be my personal favorite.

In 1970, Marvin sang his own version of Dion's 1968 song "Abraham, Martin & John," a tribute to three essential figures of American history that stood for freedom and independence. The song appeared on That's the Way Love Is as an introduction to his style of social commentary and a precursor to the singer's magnum opus What's Goin On.

The reason I connect with the song is two reasons: the lyrics and Marvin's emotion when he recorded it. Also, the repetition of "He freed a lot of people/ But it seems the good die young/ I just looked around/ And he was gone" is eerily prophetic when it comes to his life and tragic death.

"Abraham, Martin & John" is truly one song that gives me chills, it is an essential part of today's celebration of Marvin Gaye's legacy, Enjoy!

I just got word from the good homie CientifiQ that the legendary duo of Mos Def and Talib Kweli are reuniting for two shows at Nokia Theater Times Square NYC. He put me on to a link at AllHipHop that explains the details.

That's right hip-hoppers, Black Star will perform their classic material twice on May 30th. Tickets go on sale today at noon, available at either Nokia's website or Ticketmaster

I still feel a certain way about my Rock The Bells experience, missing the majority of Mos Def's set to stand in line for grub even as he brought out Kweli for a Black Star set.

This time? I'm waiting patiently for noon to come to scoop my tickets. I suggest you do the same, this could be historical.

Got some good stuff for y'all this morning, I woke up to some great new tracks and a quality article guaranteed to spark some discussion.

I'm working so I can't write much right now, but definitely check out the 10 Greatest Hip-Hop Battles (.. And Their Winners) by my favorite resident hip-hopper over at About.com, Mr. Adoso. He gives concise run-downs of rap's most historical beefs, ranging from Kool Moe Dee and Busy Bee's early rap battle to the Coastal feud between Biggie and Pac to the epic beef between Nas & Jay-Z.

He even goes out on a limb to give the winners, which is quite ballsy to say the least. I agree with most, the only glaring difference in our opinion is he's got Pac defeating Biggie. But that's a debate for another day..

Let's get hump day (I always laugh at that term, Ha!) started right with new tracks from Method Man & Redman featuring UGK, Q-Tip featuring Kanye & Consequence, and an acoustic remix of Yeezy's "Amazing" by Mike Maven.

Sorry ladies, mental lapse.

The lovely Keri Hilson's debut album In A Perfect World drops today as well, though it leaked about 3 weeks ago I feel like.

I'm still on the fence, mostly because it takes a lot for a female R&B singer/ pop diva to impress me. She's talented, but her popular songs get on my nerves after about 2 listens.

I'm talking about her music, obviously, because her sexy look had me at "hellooooo."

The production on In A Perfect World is fitting for an aspiring diva, with Timbaland handling executive duties and Polow Da Don, Danja and more crafting bangers for Ms. Hilson.

Here's a sneak peek featuring Ne-Yo and Kanye produced by Danja, though I'm sure you've heard it bc it's been blowing up the radio for a lil' bit.
